PHYSICS TUTOR
Physics, understood.
1-to-1 Physics tutoring with Shariq Hussain — 26+ years tutoring, 690+ clients, 28,000+ hours. IB · IGCSE · O Level · A Level · Edexcel · AP. Online worldwide, in-home in Karachi.
You work directly with the tutor.
One Physics Tutor. One Continuous Learning Relationship.
Large tutoring marketplaces make it possible to browse hundreds or thousands of tutors. That model is useful when your primary objective is choosing from a marketplace — filtering by price, reading star ratings, comparing profiles.
Private tutoring is different. Instead of repeatedly explaining your background to different tutors, you work with the same tutor who already understands your syllabus, your strengths, your weaknesses, and the problems you've already worked through.
The objective here was never to build the biggest Physics tutoring marketplace. It's to provide a direct, consistent tutoring relationship — the same person, session after session.
More Than Two Decades of Tutoring Experience
Shariq Hussain has been tutoring since 1999 — more than 26 years across school, college, and advanced academic subjects, including Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Business, and Engineering-related subjects.
The current tutoring record spans more than 690 clients and more than 28,000 hours of one-to-one consulting and tutoring.
This experience matters because Physics difficulties are rarely isolated to the question a student can't solve. A stuck problem may actually originate in algebra, vectors, graphs, units, proportional reasoning, trigonometry, or an incomplete grip on an earlier Physics concept — and recognising which one is a skill built from years of pattern recognition, not a single tutoring session. F = maKinematics, dynamics, forces, momentum, energy, and circular motion.
Electromagnetism
V = IRElectric fields, potential, circuits, magnetic fields, and electromagnetic induction.
Waves
v = fλWave properties, superposition, interference, standing waves, and sound.
Quantum & Modern Physics
E = hfAtomic and nuclear Physics, relativity, and quantum concepts at the appropriate level.
- Thermodynamics — Thermal physics, kinetic theory, energy transfer, and thermodynamic processes. Q = mcΔT
- Optics — Geometrical and wave optics — reflection, refraction, lenses, interference, diffraction. 1/f = 1/u + 1/v

Physics Is Mathematics Applied to the Physical World
Many Physics students don't actually have a Physics problem. They have a mathematics problem hiding inside the Physics problem.
Rearranging v = u + at under exam pressure, resolving a force into components with sin θ and cos θ, reading a gradient off a velocity-time graph as an acceleration, or simply keeping track of units through several steps of algebra — these are the quiet mathematical skills that decide whether a student can solve a Physics question, independent of how well they understand the underlying Physics.
Physics tutoring therefore includes the mathematical reasoning needed to turn a physical situation into a solvable model, not just the Physics concepts in isolation.
How Physics Tutoring Works
A Physics lesson shouldn't begin with a random list of questions. It should begin with the student's actual objective and current understanding.
- Identify the Physics problemDetermine whether the main difficulty is conceptual understanding, mathematical manipulation, problem setup, examination technique, or a combination of these.
- Find the missing principleIdentify the physical law, model, or relationship that governs the problem.
- Build the modelTranslate the physical situation into diagrams, variables, equations, and appropriate assumptions.
- Solve the problemWork through the mathematics carefully while maintaining awareness of what each quantity means physically.
- Check the resultCheck units, magnitude, signs, limiting cases, and whether the result makes physical sense.
- Repeat with variationWork through variations of the problem so the underlying principle is learned, not one memorised solution.
Online Physics Tutor — Worldwide
Online Physics tutoring makes it possible to work directly with Shariq Hussain regardless of where the student lives. It's particularly suited to students following international curricula — Cambridge, Edexcel, IB — as well as those preparing for AP and other Physics examinations.
Sessions are currently PKR 5200 (about USD 20) per 40-minute session, booked directly with a meeting link sent to WhatsApp. The focus stays 1-to-1 instruction, never a large online class.

Understand Physics Instead of Memorising Formulas
Memorising an equation helps with a familiar question. It becomes far less useful the moment the question is asked differently — a rotated diagram, an unfamiliar combination of knowns and unknowns, a two-part question that hides which principle applies.
Understanding lets a student ask better questions of their own: What physical system am I looking at? What quantities are known? What principle applies here? What assumptions am I making? What should the answer roughly look like before I even calculate it?
That style of thinking matters more as Physics becomes more mathematical and examination questions become less predictable — which is exactly where most marks are lost at A Level, IB, and AP.
Physics Exam Preparation
Examination preparation combines Physics knowledge with the ability to recognise question structures, select the right principle, calculate accurately, and communicate the answer clearly enough to be marked correctly.
Past papers are most useful when a student analyses why an answer was wrong, identifies the underlying concept, and then practices variations of the same principle — not simply working through paper after paper without reviewing the mistakes. That review, plus close attention to units, signs, and how each exam board actually allocates marks, is where a tutor adds the most value over revising alone.
IB Physics Tutoring
IB Physics asks students to combine conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, data interpretation, and examination technique in one paper — often in the same question. Tutoring is structured around SL or HL course requirements, examination preparation, and Internal Assessment support: understanding the underlying Physics, structuring an investigation, analysing data, and developing the write-up while maintaining appropriate academic integrity.
A Level Physics Tutoring
Cambridge International A Level Physics (9702) requires students to move beyond memorising equations and apply physical principles to unfamiliar situations. Tutoring covers AS and A Level content, including Advanced Practical Skills — planning, analysis, evaluation, and interpretation of experimental data — alongside full examination preparation.
AP, Edexcel & Other International Physics Programmes
International Physics programmes can use different terminology and assessment structures even when they cover similar physical principles — which is exactly where a tutor who already knows both sides of the syllabus saves the most time.
- AP Physics 1 & 2 — algebra-based Physics covering mechanics, and the further topics included in Physics 2.
- AP Physics C: Mechanics — calculus-based mechanics.
- AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism — calculus-based electromagnetism.
- Edexcel Physics — Pearson Edexcel International GCSE and International Advanced Level Physics.
Physics Problem Solving
The most useful Physics lesson isn't the one where the tutor solves the problem fastest. It's the one where the student learns how to approach the next unfamiliar problem alone.
- Read the physical situation — before writing any equation, identify the system, relevant objects, and known and unknown quantities.
- Draw the right diagram — a diagram exposes relationships between forces, directions, fields, waves, circuits, and geometry that words alone hide.
- Choose the principle — pick the physical law that governs the situation, not an equation whose symbols merely look familiar.
- Do the mathematics — carry out the algebra carefully while keeping the physical meaning of each quantity in view.
- Interpret the answer — check units, signs, magnitude, and physical sense before accepting the final result.
Ask a Physics Tutor
Sometimes a student doesn't need an entire course. They need someone to explain why one specific Physics problem isn't making sense — a mechanics question that won't resolve, a circuit that doesn't balance, a wave diagram that doesn't click.
When you reach out, include the original question, your attempted solution, the point where your reasoning became unclear, and any specific concept or equation causing difficulty — it gets you a useful answer far faster than "I don't get this chapter."
